If you don't agree, you must not know about SeamlessWeb yet. According to their website,
"SeamlessWeb is the fastest, easiest, and smartest way to order food online." I would have to agree. One of my favorite parts about living in New York is the ability to have anything I need delivered to my door. I use Fresh Direct to have my groceries delivered every Sunday morning, which is pretty sweet, but SeamlessWeb holds a special place in my heart because it's my connection to all the area sushi restaurants.
You put in your address and a list of restaurants in your area pops up. You can click around their menus and select whatever you want. Most restaurants let you hover your mouse over an item and see a description. You put in your credit card number and hit submit... that's it. In anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, (depending on the restaurant and time of day) your food arrives. The best part? You don't even have to pay extra for this service. So you get to order from the comfort of your own home, you don't have to deal with the language barriers of ordering over the phone, and you get to choose from a ton of places.
Back when I started using SeamlessWeb, I'm pretty sure it was just available in New York, but now it has spread to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Boston, Jersey City, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and London.
And you know why else SeamlessWeb is awesome? One of their emails said that if you have a blog, ask them about discounts for your readers. So I did...and check this out:
Use discount code MARGELISMS for 20% off your first order. (Expires 12/31/08)
I know the whole blog discount thing is just a marketing idea, and for the sake of full disclosure, they offered me free food to write about it, but I probably would have written about SeamlessWeb eventually even if they didn't offer me (or you) anything. I've been recommending it to people for as long as I've lived here and I spend way more money on SeamlessWeb than I'd like to admit. Rarely does a week go by that I don't seamless at least one meal. (Yes, I do use it as a verb) So check it out, it really is awesome.
