Oh holy mother of God

I can't believe I'm going to write this. I can't believe this just happened. This woman is so freaking nuts. I got home from work tonight and Madeline asked me if we could sit down and talk. She said she wanted to iron things out. After what started out seeming like an apology for going crazy on me, Madeline starts telling me that it's not fair that she's taking a two week loss for the second half of March. She told me that she feels like we should split the difference. When I told her that I tried to pay her three times for the extra days, she told me that she couldn't accept my check because it would take too long to clear. When I told her that I offered paypal, she told me that it was two days later than when she told me she needed the check. When I told her that I tried to hand her an envelope of cash, she told me that my deadline had passed. Now, however, it appears that she's realized she's stupid for refusing money and is trying to convince me that I should pay her just so she doesn't have to take a loss. She now denies that she ever told me that she was willing to let me stay only through the 15th. I told her that I don't appreciate her attempts at extortion and walked away.

If there was any doubt in my mind that I was going to have to sue her to recover my security deposit, that doubt is long gone.
