An Update

I cut out the beginning of Madeline's final email in the last post, but it just became relevant. This is the full text:

"I have $350.00 security deposit You want to be here after the 3/15
If you want to stay after the 15th the security will NOT be used as rent.
Please pay me on March 1st for the additional week. if not, you will leave on the 15th
I feel VERY uncomfortable with no security and your attitude now. One of your guests or you could damage my property by accident and I am not going to have to pay for it.
I will be civil to you & your guests but you are not calling all the shots.

I am not calling your attorney nor mine at this point."

So did she apologize, Evan asks? Yeah, if by apologize you mean refusing to accept my final rent for those days after the 15th. First she told me that she needed rent by the night of 2/23, claiming that she never told me that I could have until the first of the month to pay. Fine, I can pay earlier, no problem. I gave her a check that night. I came home from work the next day to find the check slid under my door. When I asked why she returned my check, she told me that she never told me that she would accept a check. I could post evidence against that, but what's the point, we all know she's crazy at this point. We fought a little and agreed on paypal, but her paypal bill never showed up in my inbox. When I asked about the lack of a bill? "I never said that I would accept paypal. I'm going to need cash." Can you guess what happened when I tried to give her cash? She flat out refused to accept it on the grounds...on the grounds...that's she's freaking insane! She told me that we had no agreement to stay after the 15th and I had to be out on that day. Now, I could fight this, but why would I want to fight for my right to give this obnoxious excuse for a woman any more money? Molly and her roommate Lisa are generously allowing me to stay with them for my final three days. And all I can say about that is: Thank you Lord that I'm almost done with this woman.
